Adoption Process

Steps to adopt a puppy.

Our selection process is based on dates of deposits by families, the first depositor for a litter chooses first and so on.  POCO CREEK MAY EXERCISE ITS BREEDERS RESERVE FOR UP TO TWO PUPPIES IN EACH LITTER.  BREEDERS RESERVE MAY OR MAY NOT APPLY TO YOUR LITTER.  RESERVE SELECTIONS WILL BE MADE BEFORE DEPOSITORS CHOOSE.

1. Puppy Application Form

The first thing to do is fill our Poco Creek Puppy Application form. This let’s us know what your interests are and how we can help match you with your new puppy. The most important factor to consider is from which litter do you want a puppy. Also, we always recommend being open on gender. We cannot predict the number of boys vs girls.

Nothing is better than talking directly and getting to know each other. The form also has a place where you can indicate to us whether you might be interested in our Local Family Program .
Once your application has been approved, we will notify you, and you can reserve a puppy.

2. Make Your Deposit

If you are sure about getting a Poco Creek Labradoodle puppy, and your application is approved, families can make a deposit on the Pricing/Payment page [link here]. The deposit is $500.00. Deposits can be made automatically by using the PayPal button (transaction fees are included in your automatic payment). You may also send a deposit to us by check, mailed to us at the PO Box address on the Contact Us page.

The deposit reserves a puppy for you and your place is held in the litter you select. Single deposits are for one litter only. They cannot be used to hold a puppy in multiple litters. Reservation lists often fill up quickly, and we cannot reserve a puppy for you without a deposit. Deposits are non-refundable, however, they are transferrable to a future litter.

3. Notifications

If you are reserving a puppy before the breeding occurs, we will contact you once the pregnancy has been confirmed. We will also let everyone know when the puppies are born, the number of puppies, and how many boys and girls. Pictures will be posted regularly on our Facebook page and Instagram pages.

4. Puppy Selection and Take-Home

Puppy selection and take-home are on the same day, when pups are 8 weeks old.  Before that, we will work with each family to make sure that the best match is made for you and the puppy.  Flexibility about gender is encouraged, as we never know how many boys or girls will be in each litter.  A visit schedule will be sent out by email to all depositors.  Families will come in turn based on their respective dates of deposit.  Final payment for your puppy is due at this time.  If you do not pick up your puppy on the designated day, boarding fees will be charged at $30.00 per day.

It is a Big Day when the puppies go home and become part of your family, a special time.  We love sending off our “kids” with you.  We are a little sad too, but we know they will be loved and cared for so well by our Poco Creek families.  We will be here to help and offer support whenever it is needed.
